امتحان يوليو 2012 خارج مصر Translate the following passage into Arabic A common question that language learners often ask is : how many words there are in the English language .almost as common are questions about the average size of a persons vocabulary . these questions look easy , they are indeed easy to ask , but they are almost impossible to answer satisfactorily , because they all depends on what you mean by the word : “word “ what we mean by “word “ sound obvious but it is not for a verb like “ climb” the rules of English allow you to generate the forms climbs ,climbed , climbable and climbing . are all these different words or do you collect them all together under “ climb” ? this is not a trivial question .this can be proved by looking at half a dozen current dictionaries. you will not find two that agree on what to list . almost every word in the language has inflected forms , separate meanings and compound forms . to take a famous case , the entry for the word : “ set “ in the oxford English dictionary extends to 60.000words . the noun alone has 47 separate meanings .are all these different words ? the biggest dictionary of them has more than 400.000 entries – do you count them all as words? and what about informal and formal names of living things ? can you now see why estimating the total number of words in the English language and in a persons vocabulary is so difficult , and why this differs so much from one to another ? David crystal described a simple research project and concludes that the average for a college graduate might be 60.000 active words and 75.000 passive ones . The answers يوجد سؤال شائع بين دارسي اللغة وهو : كم عدد كلمات اللغة الإنجليزية ، وينتشر مثل هذا السؤال أسئلة أخري تتعلق بمتوسط حجم المخزون اللغوي لدي فرد ما . وتبدو هذه الأسئلة سهلة حيث أنه من السهل حقا أن يسألها أي شخص ولكن يصعب وبشدة الإجابة عنها بإجابات شافية مقنعة لان ذلك يعتمد علي ما تقصده بكلمة " كلمة " ما نعنيه بكلمة " كلمة " يبدو أنه واضح ولكنه ليس كذلك . إذ أن أحد الأفعال مثل : " يتسلق " ، نجد أن قواعد اللغة الإنجليزية تتيح لك أن تستخرج منه أشكالا أخري مثل : " تتسلق " من الممكن تسلقه ، التسلق . هل كل هذه الكلمات تختلف عن بعضها البعض ، أم انك تجمعها جميعا تحت الفعل " يتسلق " ؟ إن هذا ليس سؤالا تافها . حيث يمكننا إثبات جدية هذا السؤال بالنظر إلي مجموعة من المعاجم الحديثة ، حيث أننا لا نجد معجمين يتفقان معا . ونجد أن كل كلمة في اللغة الإنجليزية تقريبا لها أشكالا مختلفة ومعاني مختلفة وأيضا بنية مركبة . ولنأخذ علي سبيل المثال مادة كلمة set في معجم أكسفورد حيث نجد لها ستين ألف كلمة . والاسم منها وحده لديه 47 معني مختلفا هل كل هذه الكلمات مختلفة عن بعضها البعض . إن أضخم قاموس به أكثر من 400.000 مادة فهل نقول إنها أربعون ألف كلمة ؟ وماذا نقول عن الأسماء العامية وغير العامية للكائنات الحية ؟ هل تري الآن مدي صعوبة تقدير إجمالي عدد كلمات اللغة الإنجليزية وإجمالي ما لدي أي شخص من مخزون لغوي ؟ ولماذا يختلف هذا كثيرا من شخص لآخر ؟ ويصف لنا ديفيد كريستال ، احد مشروعات الأبحاث البسيطة ويصل منه إلي نتيجة أن المتوسط لدي الخريج الجامعي من كلمات اللغة قد يكون 60 ألفا من الكلمات الفعالة و75 ألفا من الكلمات غير الفعالة . 1- Food for all is the crucial problem of today s world , as a hungry world is never likely to be peaceful and secure . 2- using cell phone and the excessive speed cause a lot of car accident in Egypt and many cars accident than other countries .

امتحان 3/7/2013 1- translate the following passage into Arabic : Queen Hatshepsut on the west bank of the Nile river , near the valley of the kings in Egypt , stands a great temple .this temple was built in honour of queen Hatshepsut who was the ruler of Egypt . when her father king Thutmose died she and her brother got the throne . shortly afterward , her brother died , leaving Hatshepsut to rule the land alone . even though she was a women , she was crowned as “ pharaoh “ . pharaoh is an Egyptian title that means king or emperor . ancient paintings show Hatshepsut wearing a false beard . a beard was only worn by pharaohs as the symbol of wisdom . she wore men’s clothes and the crown of the pharaoh , too . Hatshepsut was a very clever ruler and spent great efforts to activate trade with other lands . she also gave great care to building beautiful temples . she built the temple on the Nile as a place for her body to rest when she dies. she made sure it was a beautiful structure so that people would remember her . 2- Translate the following two passages into English : 1- إن مكتبة الإسكندرية تثبت للعالم كله أن مصر بلد العلم والمعرفة كانت المكتبة القديمة مركزا للنهضة الثقافية ، والمكتبة الجديدة ستكون نقطة تحول لمستقبل أفضل للإنسانية. 2- قضاء العطلات في الأرياف يتيح للإنسان الاستمتاع بالهدوء وجمال الطبيعة ، ويوفر له هدنة مؤقتة من ضوضاء المدينة The answers يوجد معبد ضخم علي الضفة الغربية لنهر النيل بالقرب من وادي الملوك في مصر . تم بناء هذا المعبد تكريما للملكة حتشبسوت التي كانت تحكم مصر . وقد اعتلت هي وأخيها العرش بعد وفاة أبيها الملك تحتمس ، وتوفي شقيقها بعد ذلك بفترة وجيزة تاركا حتشبسوت تحكم مصر بمفردها . وقد تم تنصيبها " فرعونا" بالرغم من كونها امرأة . ولقب فرعون هو لقب مصري يعني ملك أو إمبراطور . وقد صورت الرسومات القديمة حتشبسوت بلحية مستعارة . وهي كان يرتديها الفراعنة فقط كرمز للحكمة . وكانت ترتدي ملابس الرجال بالإضافة إلي تاج الملك . وقد كانت حتشبسوت زعيمة شديدة الذكاء وبذلك الكثير من المساعي لتنشيط التجارة مع بلدان أخري . كما اعتنت بشدة ببناء معابد جميلة . وقامت ببناء معبدها علي النيل ليكون مكانا يستريح فيها جسدها بعد وفاتها . وقد حرصت علي أن يكون بناءا يتميز بالجمال حتى يتذكرها الناس . 1- Alexandria library proves to the whole universe that Egypt is the land of science and knowledge . the old bibliotheca was a central for cultural upswing , and the new one is going to be a turning point towards a better future for humanity . 2- spending holidays in the countryside gives (allows) a person an opportunity to enjoy quietness and the beauty of nature , it also provides him with a temporary tranquility from the city noise .

امتحان 25/8/2013 translate the following passage into Arabic: ترجم القطعة التالية إلي اللغة العربية : when she was a child J.K Rowling loved reading books and making up stories of her own . when she was five , she wrote her first story called “ Rabbit” when she was in high school , her favorite activity was telling long , complicated stories to her friends . when she grew up , Rowling continued to write . one day in the summer of 1990 , she was on a long train ride . she suddenly had an idea for a book about a boy named Harry potter .Rowling who was divorced was the mother of a small baby . she didn’t have a job and had a very little money . her tiny apartment was very cold . during the day Rowling would take her daughter to a café and write while the baby slept next to her .when she finished the book , she started sending it to publishers . in the beginning , no one wanted to publish it . but in June 1997 , her story “Harry potter and the philosophers stone” finally appeared . the book achieved great success . more than a million books were sold . Translate the following two passages into English : 1- يستخدم الانترنت لأسباب عديدة . فيستخدمه بعض الناس لتبادل المعلومات ، ويستخدمه البعض الآخر للكتابة لبعضهم البعض بطريقة الكترونية (5marks) 2- علي إسرائيل أن تضع حدا لسياسة تدمير المنازل التي تعاني منها كثير من العائلات الفلسطينية (3marks) answers يشعر الناس في كثير من البلدان أن الحياة الأسرية الآن تختلف عما كانت عليه في الماضي (فيما مضي) .وليس السبب وراء هذا الشعور هو حقيقة ازدياد أعداد المرأة العاملة . فهو بالاحرى يرجع إلي حقيقة تغير أماكن العمل . حيث كان المنزل هو المكان الرئيسي الذي يقضي فيه الناس نهارهم . ولكنه أصبح الآن عبارة عن مكان يقوم فيه الناس فقط بالنوم والاستحمام وتغيير ملابسهم . وأنتقل العمل إلي مراكز إنتاجية يصعب فيها تأدية وظائفنا ونحن نحمل أطفالنا الرضع علي ظهورنا . وقد أزداد انفصال الأطفال بشكل كبير عن عالم الكبار بخروج الأمهات للعمل في المكاتب أو المصانع . كما تغير أيضا الدور الذي يقوم به الأب . فمن المفترض أن يقوم الرجل بدور فعال في العناية بالصغار . وقيام بعض الرجال بتحمل مسئوليات زائدة فيما يتعلق بأطفالهم هو أمر حقيقي ، ولكن مازالت العديد من النساء العاملات يقمن بأكثر مما يقوم به أزواجهن من أجل الأسرة . مما يعني أن للمرأة دوران : دور الأم ودور المرأة العاملة . وتتسبب مسئوليات كلا الدورين بإصابة المرأة بالإجهاد (بالتعب الشديد) . 1- people use the internet for many reasons . some people use it to exchange information , others use it to write to each other electronically. 2- Israel must put an end to the policy of demolishing homes that many Palestinian families suffer .
